A post image reading "34 tomorrow" over a birthday cake, with "A year in review of 33" beneath

Where to start? My family threw me a wonderful 33rd Frasier themed birthday party, setting a wonderful tone for the beginning of what ended up being a fascinating year.

  • We traveled to California for Christmas to spend the holiday with Jenelle’s side of the family
  • We both knocked out two more quarters of school
  • We found out how much Guinea Pig vet visits are
  • We spent Valentine’s weekend in Walla Walla, WA and made some new friends
  • I took a more active role with the Lilac City Community Band, managing their website
  • I passed the APE (Advanced Programming Exam) on the first try
  • We took a trip with my brother and sister-in-law to Portland for an extended weekend – great sushi, Top Golf, Rose Gardens, and the beach.
  • We spent 24 days on the road, mostly in Capitola
  • We went to Napa, where I attended the SwampUP conference and Jenelle and I both enjoyed some much deserved R&R
  • I finally got my RealID so I can fly
  • I mentored and judged EWU’s and Gonzaga’s hackathons
  • I moved from DevOps Engineer I to DevOps Engineer II at work.
  • I passed my AZ-204 Azure Developer certification (now onto DevOps Expert!)
  • I lost about 15 pounds, still working out how I’m going to drop the next 15
  • On that note, we’ve been getting out for more long hikes around Spokane

It was a year filled with fun, and I’m luckier than ever to have spent it with my fiancee, Jenelle <3

I can’t wait to see what 2026 and 34 bring my way. I’m ready for it.
